Republic Polytechnic (RP) launched the first Specialist Diploma in Entrepreneurship programme for both aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. This course also caters well for intra-preneurs whom may be seeking to bring their career or business to the next level within the corporate organisation.

This course will equip participants with the core entrepreneurial skill sets, as well as inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset in them. Through customised modules such as Start-up Business Planning and New Venture Financing, this course puts in place the key building blocks for setting up and growing the business. Beyond the technical skill set, this course also equips participants with the soft skills such as Networking Skills, Effective Business Communication and Negotiation Strategies.

Open to Diploma graduates (minimum qualification) in any course of study, this nine-month part-time programme will expose participants to both the theoretical and practical aspects of entrepreneurship. Adopting a mix of lectures and seminar-styled sessions, participants will gain a holistic understanding of entrepreneurship concepts.

The value proposition for this course stems from the practical approach adopted where participants will be exposed to real world issues and learns practical examples in the comfort of the class room. Through case studies and discussions, participants will also better understand and appreciate value creation and the growth of businesses, which are vital to the success of all enterprises.

Another plus point of the course is that the participants will be able to gain from further education opportunities. Graduates who meet the minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) and work experience criteria will be offered pathways to Masters Degree courses with an established University. For eligible participants seeking to set up their own business after the programme, they may also apply to the YES! Start-ups funding scheme, obtaining up to $50,000 in funding for their new business.
